About Carla

Hi, I'm Carla! I am a counselor-in-training completing my clinical practicum with New Hope Counseling. I earned my Bachelor's degree in General Psychology from a respected university in the Dominican Republic (PUCMM). Becoming a mother inspired me to further my education in perinatal mental health, leading me to become certified in Perinatal Psychology.

As I worked with more families, I became passionate about infant and child sleep and the impact it has on children's development, parental mental health, and family well-being. This led me to become a Certified Sleep Coach, and I have had the privilege of supporting more than 1,000 families through different stages of parenthood.

These experiences strengthened my passion for counseling and my desire to walk alongside people through life's challenges with compassion and empathy. Whether you're navigating anxiety, a life transition, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I am bilingual and provide counseling services in both English and Spanish.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, traveling, visiting Disney, creating educational content for parents, and making meaningful memories with my family.

I believe that every person has a unique story and deserves to be met with empathy, respect, and compassion. I take a person-centered and collaborative approach to counseling, working alongside my clients to better understand their experiences, identify their strengths, and develop practical tools that support their goals.

I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, knowing you are heard, valued, and never judged. My hope is that together we can build on your strengths and work toward meaningful, lasting growth.
