About Maggie

Hi, I’m Maggie! I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern here at New Hope Counseling.

I was drawn to the field of counseling during my early college years. Though I have always wanted to help people, I found true meaning in the idea of becoming the person that could hold space for others. I feel honored to listen to others’ life stories, and encourage them to find what gives their life meaning as well.

In my free time, my wide array of interests has me constantly doing something different and always on a side quest. Outside of my title as a “Counselor”, some would call me an avid women’s sports fan, Disney adult, ice cream connoisseur, travel junkie, and a professional at collecting hobbies. At my core, I am a firm believer that joy is found in the little things, and that if we refocus on them, it can make life a whole lot sweeter.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Florida - Go Gators!

Approach

My approach to the therapeutic process begins with a nonjudgemental and safe environment. I believe that when a client feels comfortable to be their authentic self, true work can be done. My clients are the experts of their own stories, therefore I view therapy as a collaborative process rather than the therapist leading the session. Together, we can process your experiences, identify patterns of behavior, and reframe core beliefs to help you reach your goals, and have the confidence to do so.
